2010 SPORTSMAN FILM FESTIVAL

The Sportsman Film Festival is an annual fundraiser for the Boonies International Film Festival. The Sportsman Film Festival is an amatuer film festival for any individual who wishes to submit a video of hunting, fishing and conservation / wildlife observation. Awards will be given for first, second, and third in each catagory.

The festival will present between 60 to 100 of the submitted short films on Oct. 2 and 3, 2010 at 310 Market St., Warren, Pennsylvania 16365. The films choosen to win awards and to be screened will be graded on the criteria listed under the submission guidelines.

The short film catagories are for all films less than 15 minutes that meet the submission criteria. There are six catagories that short films can be submitted under: Firearm Hunting (rifle, flintlock, etc), Bow Hunting (compound, curved, cross, etc.), Freshwater fishing, Salt water fishing, Conservation / Wildlife Observation, and Grizzly Gary Humorous category. These videos are encouraged to be by novice filmmakers or just sportsman capturing wildlife on video.

Submissions will be accepted between July 15 through August 31, 2010. Submission fees are $15/submission.

There is one category for Full Feature Independent Film. The full feature catagory is for all independent films greater than 15 min. that include the subject matter of fishing, hunting, conservation, or wildlife that meet the submission criteria. This could be any genre such as drama, documentary or even comedy. Submission fees are $15/submission.

The Sportsman Film Festival will benefit the Boonies Film Festival. The Boonies supports art education and regional film development (more information is on the Boonies page).
